The project’s activities enabled the mobilization of local actors with no established cooperation between each other, in addition to the reverbation in the press regarding the topic of juvenile justice, raising the population’s awareness of the problems within the socio-educational system. The instructional processes were strategic and attracted public officials and policy makers to dialog, presenting aspects that could be improved within the system in place to ensure rights. The visits to the inpatient units favored approaching the teenagers and made their participation possible as subjects of rights, allowing them to be heard. Relatives of the teenagers were welcomed and supported by the Center for the Defense of Children and Adolescents.
