Two workshops brought together members of groups who participated in the project, “Strengthening the empowerment of networks and cooperation in the promotion of human rights in Brazil,” held by the Brazil Human Rights Fund with sponsorship from Petrobras. In Brasília during April, the third edition of the “First Network Workshop — Communications and Human Rights” took place, with representatives from indigenous and quilombo organizations. And in São Paulo during May, the second instance of the “Second Network Workshop — Right to Communications and content production” took place.
This project makes it possible to direct nearly R$ 1.5 million toward training and the development of communications products to these networks. In the scope of this project, an institutional video (see here, in Portuguese) and two folders on which further workshops were based have already been created: “Right to Communication and content production” and “Reflections and guidelines for the construction of a Communications Plan related to Human Rights” (only available in Portuguese).
Public event – In parallel with the workshop, the launch of the “We are all defenders” campain took place, developed by the Human Rights Platform – Dhesca Brasil, Intervozes – Brazilian Communications Collective and National Human Rights Movement (MNDH). The campaign is also one of the results of the Networks project.
