By the end of February, Brazil Fund had received 1.365 project proposals through two calls for proposals released in December 2015. Of this total, 969 proposals were directed to the “Fighting institutional violence and discrimination” call and 396 were aimed at the “Fighting together the violence that kills Brazilian youth” call.
These projects came from all regions of the country and are now going through an extensive and rigorous selection process that includes selection committees composed of experts that are not related in any way to the fund.
The call “Fighting together the violence that kills Brazilian youth” will donate US$ 560,000 to the selected projects. The result will be announced in May. The call “Fighting institutional violence and discrimination” will donate US$800,000 to the approved initiatives, and the results will be released in June.
