Brazil Fund will donate more than R$ 1 million to 35 projects selected last May and June. Projects came from all regions of the country and were related with different themes related to human rights.
Twenty initiatives will be supported through the annual call “Fighting institutional violence and discrimination”. They will receive a total of R$ 800 thousand. Learn more about current initiatives.
Other 15 projects will be supported through the call “Fighting together against the violence that kills the youth in Brazil” In this case, the total donation is R$560,000. Here are the supported projects.
In total, the Fund received 1,365 project proposals since December 2015, when the two calls were launched.
In addition to financial resources, projects are supported with the implementation of training activities. The foundation also conducts monitoring. Organizations of Ceara, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Minas Gerais were visited by the Fund’s project’s coordinator, Taciana Gouveia, between May and June.
The purpose of these visits was to provide technical and strategic advice to the organizations, which receive ongoing monitoring of the Fund.
