In partnership with OAK Foundation and the Betty and Jacob Lafer Institute, Brazil Fund launched the specific call “Human Rights and Criminal Justice: Fighting Pre-Trial Detention and the Mass Imprisonment in Brazil”.
Up to R$150,000 will be donated to projects focused on fighting the excessive and illegal use of pre-trial detention in Brazil. The purpose of the call is to strengthen civil society in this field.
The supported organizations should carry out activities such as documentation, information monitoring and research, communication and campaigns, advocacy, litigation, technical and legal advice.
We are especially interested in supporting projects that deal with the racial, ethnic and gender dimensions of pre-trial detention.
