Brazil Human Rights Fund Pioneers Sergio Haddad and Sueli Carneiro said goodbye to the foundation’s executive board and, together with Darci Frigo and Oscar Vilhena, were honored by the new board members as well as the entire foundation staff.
The new board, already in effect, is composed of president Jorge Durão, projects director Átila Roque, financial director Marcos José Pereira da Silva and director of training, Denise Dora.
On December 4th the Board of Trustees inaugurated its new president, Gersem Luciano (Baniwa). The Board also includes several new members: Mafuane Odara, Marcos José Pereira da Silva and Veriano Terto.
The completion of this first macro cycle was an emotional one. The directors watched a slideshow of the important moments in their work and received a folder with photographs depicting parts of their stories.
Former president Sergio Haddad made sure to highlight the work carried out by the Fund team and thanked all who have collaborated with the foundation.
Sueli Carneiro looked back on the beginning of the foundation and paid homage to another pioneer, director Denise Dora, who fought to create the Brazil Human Rights Fund and acquire the resources needed to support human rights projects.
