The Brazil Human Rights Fund announced on December 2 two new calls for proposals that will together allow for the donation of more than R$ 1 million to projects throughout the country in 2016. The announcements was made during the show, “Musical Dialogues in Human Rights”, held at Sesc Vila Mariana.
The Annual 2016 Round will support projects that combat institutional violence and discrimination. The total to be distributed will be up to R$ 800,000.
A thematic round, entitled “United against the violence that kills Brazilian youth”, will distribute R$ 560,000 to projects whose focus is on youth confronting violence, especially black youth.
In both, each organization or group will receive a donation of up to R$ 40,000 for a period of up to one year. Proposals must be received by February 26, 2016.

In nearly ten years, the Fund has donated R$ 11.7 million to nearly 300 projects in every region of the country.
