Typically, these are groups whose work is deeply rooted in networking, advocacy, and large-scale impact on regulations and public policies to safeguard fundamental rights.
A partnership between the Brazil Fund and the OAK Foundation in support of projects geared towards fighting violations of the human rights of incarcerated people under the provisory prison regime. The partnership highlights the support to medium and large scale projects, for periods over a year. For that, a special line of support was created with different characteristics to those found in the processes undertaken through calls for proposal. The initiatives are chosen through invitation letters, after undergoing analysis by independent specialists.
Conducted by the Brazil Fund in partnership with Open Society Foundations for the field of Criminal Justice. The goal is to support initiatives that fight the violations of human rights in the regime of provisory prison, with an angle that enables a specific look to the practice of racism, as well as the geographic focus on the northeast region of the country. Through a special call broadcast by invitation letter, five organizations presented projects that were analyzed and approved by specialists in the theme.
