Objetivos e público alvo
Create a broad network of coordination among several national and international organizations, which will seek to hold the Brazilian State responsible for human rights violations, especially the Tapeba peoples’ right to land in Ceará.
Atividades Principais
• Legal workshops on Convention 169 and the right to demarcated land; history of the political struggle of the Tapeba People; instruments of struggle and resistance against the violation of the rights of indigenous peoples;
• The “Demarcated Land, Guaranteed Life” Campaign, including the production of pamphlets, posters and a documentary on the struggle and story of this people.
Sobre a Organização
The Association of Tapeba de Caucaia Indian Communities was instituted in 1985 with the support of the indigenous Pastoral and is currently the largest expression of political representation for the Tapeba People, bringing together indigenous people from 17 communities for the struggle for demarcation of their lands.
