Creation of domestic workers’ centers through organization of the trade union, via neighborhood association meetings, community groups and women’s associations to support the foundation of centers and the renovation of existing leadership.

Contexto
Domestic work still isn’t seen as a profession just like others. This is due to the colonial legacy and slavery era. That was when the profession emerged, bringing consequences until now, such as racism, inequality and misogyny.
Domestic work has many cultural functions: house care, childcare, care for the elderly, cleaning, organizing, purchases, cooking, etc.
The exploitation of female domestic workers is a worldwide problem. Numerous factors cause this, such as the lack of opportunity, social inequality and poverty. Some rights have already been attained but aren’t enough. The path ahead is long.

The Domestic Workers Trade Union of Acre is an organized trade union of domestic workers that fight for unity within the sector and the defense of their rights.
