    Theme
    Youth’s rights

    Objetivos e público alvo

Raise awareness of children and adolescents about their rights, denouncing violence in the outskirts of big cities as well as the lack of compliance regarding the institutional fulfillment of these rights.

    Atividades Principais

Disseminating information and collaborating with other organizations.

    Occupying the square.

Gathering of relevant information in a portfolio that will help disseminate new occupations.

    Project consolidation.

    Contexto

There is a historical and oppressive stigma attached to the poor and peripheral areas of the city, so strong that it is used to justify the excessive violence. This, results in the killing of young people in these areas, either by the police or due to the failure to fulfill the rights provided for in the ECA (Statute of Children and Adolescents). Media gets in the way of information dealing with the subjects in a sensationalist and biased way. This disservice “seals” the attack to youth in peripheral areas of the city and our society has become used to seeing them dying. It is a war on one side only.

    Sobre a Organização

RAProativo’s mission is to guarantee the right to music education and access to culture in the daily lives of children and adolescents in the outskirts of Pirituba and generate mechanisms to fight the historical violence that affects poor Black youth through rap music. The group has a close relationship with several schools and groups in the region.
