The World Day Against Trafficking in Persons (September 23) was the theme of a campaign held in December by The Brazil Fund’s São Paulo Receipt program team.
Thamara Carvalho, who works with partnerships, visited 63 participating stores along with intern Giovanna Gundim, sharing information about the theme and the foundation’s work.
The Brazil Fund supports groups who combat these and other forms of human rights violations in the country. A promotional card on sexual exploitation and person trafficking was left with each store.
Enrolled in the state government program, the Brazil Fund has partnered with stores in the city of São Paulo to gather rebates donated by customers from sales taxes collected. This has allowed the foundation to direct these rebates to the development of its social investment activities.
